Box Office Results: Sep 17 – 19 (The Town Cashes In)

The Town took the top spot of this past weekend’s box office, fending off Devil’s excessive promoting and the wide appeal of Easy A. I think a lot of it had to do with the start of the fall movie season and moviegoers were anxious to see a potential award-winning drama after a summer of effects-driven popcorn movies. Also, I think that it is possible that M. Night Shyamalan’s name being attached to Devil as a producer might have hurt its appeal due to his recent directorial woes.
